Embarking on the monumental journey of dubbing for Pushpa 2, the actor admitted the nerves that accompanied such expectations, particularly in the wake of the blockbuster success of its predecessor. “When we commenced dubbing,” he shared, “the weight of anticipation loomed large. Yet, akin to cricket, where one must embrace the natural game, I realized that all we could do was leverage our training.” He emphasized practice, stating, “What you’ve honed in your sessions is what you manifest on the field.”
He continued, “We embraced that philosophy and simply awaited the audience’s reaction. The love that they’ve shown for Pushpa 2 is surreal, overwhelming—one cannot help but feel an immense sense of gratitude. The culmination of effort, conviction, and sheer belief transforms into joy when it resonates with so many. It’s proof that your faith in your work has paid off.”
Reacting to the tidal wave of affection post-release, he expressed, “It’s euphoric! The affection and accolades I’ve received are beyond comprehension. I find myself at a loss for words—it’s abundantly clear that I must channel this energy into delivering even better performances for my audience.”

On the subject of pressure and the daunting expectations that trailed after the triumphant release of Pushpa: The Rise, Talpade acknowledged, “Indeed, the burden of expectations was palpable. But, at some point, you must cast those aside and focus on your craft. Pour your heart into your work, then await the audience’s verdict. There’s no abracadabra; dedication and patience is the mantra, and if the stars align, happiness ensues.”
He also delved into his experience voicing Timon in the ever-iconic Simba and now in Mufasa. Reveling in the nostalgia, he recounted, “Timon marked my inaugural dubbing adventure, and I cherished every second. The chemistry Timon shares with Pumba is brilliantly penned by Mayur Puri; the reception was heartwarming. Thus, the opportunity to reprise this role filled me with joy. One can only wish for a dedicated film featuring Timon and Pumbaa—improvisation and sheer fun await!”
