The Real Estate Standards Organization (RESO) is embarking on a significant journey in 2025 with a blend of fresh faces and seasoned veterans joining its board of directors. In an announcement released on Thursday, the organization revealed the outcomes of its recent elections, detailing both director and executive committee appointments.
“This year stands as a keystone moment for organized real estate,” declared Rebecca Jensen, the president and CEO of Midwest Real Estate Data (MRED). “Our members have voiced their desire for steady leadership, and we are grateful to those who stepped forward in response to our call. We eagerly anticipate seeing formidable candidates emerge in future elections.”
Jensen’s return as chair for the sixth consecutive year exemplifies continuity in leadership. Alongside her, John Breault—the vice president of MLS at Rhode Island’s State-Wide MLS—has been elected as vice-chair. Furthermore, Melissa King, taking the helm as secretary, and Richard Renton, who now carries the treasurer title, reinforce the leadership team.
Breault’s influence extends beyond his executive role, as he was selected with Greg Moore, the chief technology officer of Oregon’s Regional Multiple Listing Service (RMLS), to occupy open board seats representing MLSs and Realtor associations.
On the tech front, Michael Hayes, the executive director of industry development at Homes.com, clinched an open board seat designated for technology firms, developers, and consultants. Meanwhile, Caitlin McCrory, vice president of industry relations at Anywhere, and Joe Wilhelmy, vice president of business technology at RE/MAX, secured two additional seats intended for those in brokerages, brokers, agents, and appraisers.
Additionally, the board has welcomed Renton, along with Matt Hendricks of Zillow, Patrick Pichette from the Canadian Real Estate Association, Dan Troup, the CEO of Broker Public Portal, and Ross Buck, the CEO of Omni MLS, as members-at-large, continuing to enrich the board’s diverse expertise.
As the board ushers in five newly occupied seats, there remain nine existing members continuing their terms into 2025. This impressive roster includes industry stalwarts: Matt Cohen from CoreLogic, Katy Davenport of First MLS, Bob Evans at Move, Shayne Fairley of Stellar MLS, and others from foundational organizations such as the National Association of Realtors and Realtors Property Resource.
“This board has selflessly committed their time and vast experience, cultivating and refining real estate standards for the enhancement of both the industry and the consumers we serve,” expressed Sam DeBord, CEO of RESO. “The seamless interaction we enjoy with real estate technology would be unthinkable without the dedication of our volunteer leaders.”
